A Reunion to Remember: Embracing Friendship and Serenity in Mount Ida, Arkansas

Mount Ida, Arkansas – a picturesque haven nestled amidst the piney woods, provided the perfect backdrop for a reunion that would create lasting memories. Debra and I were excited to get to this serene destination and eager to meet my oldest friend and colleague, Jason, along with his lovely wife Jami. Together, we embarked on a journey filled with laughter, camaraderie, and cherished reminiscences.

Our home for the few blissful days was a charming cabin surrounded by tall trees and the soothing sounds of nature. The cabin exuded rustic elegance, offering the perfect escape from the world outside.

Our reunion was perfectly times for college football and world cup soccer matches. The cabin's living room turned into a mini sports haven as we cheered for our favorite teams and playfully engaged in friendly banter. But it wasn't just sports; board games became a centerpiece of our time. The cabin echoed with laughter and excitement as we engaged in intense battles of strategy and wit. The game of Clue became our "go to" and magically transported us back in time. We were no longer adults sitting around a table; we were kids again (but with alcohol), caught up in the fun of a classic game.

Evenings at the cabin were enchanting. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm golden glow on the surrounding woods, we gathered around the crackling fire pit. The reminiscing began, and stories of experiences, and adventures from the past emerged. Laughter and sentimentality intertwined as we relived moments that have had such an impact on us. It was a tribute to enduring friendship and the value of shared experiences that transcend time and distance.

Our time in Mount Ida was nothing short of magical. Amidst the beauty of nature and the embrace of cherished friends, we were reminded of the beauty of simple pleasures. From the quiet solitude of the woods to the lively camaraderie during sports matches and board games, every moment was etched into our hearts.
